Media Resources

Seeing, hearing, touching, or smelling the real thing is certainly the best way to know about things. Providing such opportunities is therefore very essential to enrich children's experiences. But it is not possible to provide a first hand experience of every thing that we wish to help the child learn about. When the real thing is beyond the reach of the child, using a picture can be of help. In many cases it can also initiate and motivate children to observe the real thing. Exploring remote environments become very convenient.

Living World

The living world comprises of a variety of life forms: different plants, animals and micro-organisms. Photographs in this section seek to nurture in children the ability to observe the living world, get to learn their characteristics, understand their interdependence, follow their annual cycles and learn to care and respect all living organisms.

Land and Water

Travel and media (TV) help children get familiar with Earth’s features. Though they learn the names – mountains, deserts, oceans, etc., they still need to understand conceptually what these features represent and how they influence life on Earth. The collection of photographs, here, is aimed at providing children visual information to help them understand the geographical features of the Earth.

People and Places

Almost the entire Earth is inhabited by mankind. People living in different regions have different lifestyles. Given the hugeness of our country, the only way children can get to know about places and people is through photographs and other media resources.
