Bookshelf

Books are not only the treasure house of knowledge, but also the essence of the lives and experiences of some of the best minds. Books written at different times in different places give us a glimpse into those times, those cultures and the thoughts that shaped our world. Books therefore can inspire. Every book has something to offer to everyone.

You will find in this constantly growing collection, resource books, biographies, literature and stories for children, written by fellow teachers and great thinkers.

Education

Education and schooling has a very long tradition. While nobody disputes that education is a serious engagement of students to learn and acquire life skills, nobody has a foolproof mechanism to ensure this end-result for all. This section showcases books on varied aspects of education and encourages readers to draw up and refine their own educational perspective.

Reference

What is … or How do we go about … or I need to learn more about …; are some of the thoughts that prompt us to seek reference materials. Books in this section do just this.

Children's Books

One of the ways in which children can broaden their horizons is by reading. Books introduce them to different worlds, contexts and situations. Teachers who realise this, create opportunities for their students to read and discuss a variety of books.

Books, other than the textbook, are also essential for embarking on Reading Programmes. Books that can hold children’s attention, either by their rich illustrations or their captivating storyline are invaluable assets to teachers.

Translations and Books in Indian Languages

Translation is a noble task by which the richness of thought expressed in one language is brought out in another.

A collection of books in Indian languages is also being built up in this section.
