The Little Prince [476KB]
Antoine de Saint-Exupery
Written by Antoine de Saint-Exupery, who was a French author, journalist and pilot in 1943, one year before his death, the Little Prince appears to be a simple children’s tale. This profound tale, written in riddles and laced with philosophy and poetic metaphor, is a story of a young boy who goes travelling around the universe. During his travel he has extraordinary encounters which reveal to him the follies of adult behaviour. It's a moving book and takes the reader through a process of reflection on the adult world through the eyes of a child.

Whether Pippi's scrubbing her floors, doing arithmetic, or stirring things up at a fancy tea party her flair for the outrageous always seems to lead to another adventure.

Dear Mr. Henshaw [51 KB]
Beverly Cleary
This is the story of a young boy who learns to overcome his problems. A major role in his learning is played by the writer, Mr. Henshaw, with whom the boy is in constant correspondence. The book has a unique style -- a series of letters and dairy notings of the young boy.
